Munters - A General Profile

Munters has a leading position in a global niche market and is a provider of products and services for humidity control in industrial, commercial, residential and agricultural applications. Munters dominates the humidity control business with a global market share of between 50% and 70% within its niches.

The technology of the core products involves the interchange of air and water. The principle challenges are the creation of symmetric structures to create a large contact area and the chemical design of contact media.

The operations are focused in four niche areas; Dehumidification (DH), Moisture Control Services (MCS), HumiCool (Evaporative Cooling/Humidification), and Mist Elimination/Water treatment.

The marketing activities of Munters are organized on a global basis into three geographic operating regions, each with distinct market and climate conditions: Europe, The Americas and Asia. Munters maintains its own sales organization with technical and after sales support within each of the three regions.

The Division "PreCooler" at Munters Euroform GmbH in Aachen, Germany, handles the project business with PreCoolers for Gas Turbines and Diesel Engines. From ex-works supply to turn-key installation, for new machines as well for retrofits, complete projects are handled here.

Munters customers originate from a wide range of segments, the most important being pharmaceutical, electronics, chemical and insurance companies.

Revenues in 2007 were approximately 6200 MSEK and the number of employees were approximately 4000. The company is established in 28 countries all over the world and has production at 12 locations in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. Most of the companies are certified according to ISO 9000.
